Burt
Huber
Burt
Huber has worked in the Information Technology field for 20
years in a variety of capacities. The focus of his career has
been on designing and developing business systems that effectively
leverage technology and human performance. In recent years,
Burt has gained recognition as an industry leader in the area
of Performance Support Engineering and knowledge management
with business critical applications. He consults with Fortune
500 organizations in the areas of business strategy, information
technology, knowledge management, and performance support. He
frequently presents at conferences for various professional
organizations and is published in trade publications, sharing
his vision and strategies for the future. Burt has also been
an active member of several professional communities, publishing
papers, presenting research, and serving on technical committees.
Burt received his undergraduate degree from the University of
Wisconsin, Whitewater. He holds professional certification in
Production and Inventory Management from the American Production
and Inventory Control Society. He has completed additional studies
and professional development work in computer science, computer-aided
software engineering, business re-engineering, and project management.
Burt's accomplishments include the following:
- Using
performance-centered design principles, designed and developed
a travel reservations system interface for travel agents associated
with a co-ownership group of 14 major airlines. The application
is used by travel agents of all levels of expertise to interpret
and complete corporate travel reservations.
- Analyzed
performance and designed the prototype for a project launch
process. The design incorporates knowledge management system
technologies in an Internet environment. This application
is a critical, strategic business application for an industry
leader.
- Managed
and developed Education Technologies and Solutions with the
NCR Corporation and AT&T. Responsible for Business Development
in the areas of Knowledge Transfer Consulting, Performance-Centered
Design and Development Services, Alternative Delivery Deployment,
and Education Outsourcing Services.
- Started
Knowledge Transfer, Inc., an Ohio-based corporation that specializes
in the creation, development, and delivery of information
technology education solutions. Clients include software companies
such as Sterling Software, Metafile Information Systems, CINCOM
Systems, Bachman Information Systems, and many others.
- Directed
the Systems Software Technology Education Services Group within
CINCOM Software. As part of the leadership team, grew this
organization from a small team to a division of CINCOM with
revenues in excess of $7M. Attained profit objectives for
seven consecutive years of operations.
- Designed,
developed and managed financial and manufacturing business
systems through collaboration with senior management at Wehr
Corporation and its diversified subsidiaries. Responsible
for full-scale implementation with Thermotron Industries,
wholly owned subsidiary of Wehr Corporation, and as a result,
became responsible for all MIS operations for the corporation.
