Chris Schneck has nine years of experience in the computer application design field, focusing primarily on graphical user interface (GUI) design and multimedia technologies. Chris' broad range of expertise, including the Ariel Performance Support Engineering™ process, has allowed him to contribute throughout the many phases of application design and development; from information and knowledge gathering to iterative design, prototyping, and final development. Throughout his career, Chris has worked with a variety of development tools and technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, Visual Basic, C++, Toolbook, Director, QuickTime, and Video for Windows.

Chris received a B.S. degree in Computer Science from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois.

Chris worked as an independent consultant for eight years before joining Ariel. Examples of his design and development project work include:

• Retail manager's workbench. Designed for an audience not accustomed to using computers, the interface used rich graphics and a mix of performance support tools to provide a comfortable working environment.
• Retail point-of-sale (POS) terminal. The interface for the multipurpose terminal seamlessly integrated multiple applications and provided "just-in-time" information and tools during the sales process.
• Database front-end. Used in the deployment of ATM machines, the front-end was extremely flexible, conforming to a wide variety of users' needs and work styles.
• Airline reservation system. Designed in compliance with performance centered design principles, the graphical user interface eliminated complexities inherent in the command-line interface and guided the user through complex tasks.
