Ronnie
Bates
Ronnie
Bates has eleven years of experience in the field of graphic
design, focused primarily on multimedia and web-based interface
design. He has worked with digital media for a wide range of
applications. His understanding of the production process, as
well as the underlying design, allows him to contribute throughout
the many phases of multimedia design and development. With his
critical eye, high personal standards, knowledge of production
tools and techniques, and ability to understand the client's
point of view, Ronnie regularly meets or exceeds client expectations.
Ronnie holds a degree in Applied Arts from the Art Institute
of Dallas.
Ronnie's experience includes the following:
- Directed
a team of artists on a large computer-based learning project
for a Big 3 accounting firm.
- Was
responsible for visual design in consulting engagements, from
proof-of-concept visioning prototypes to finished applications.
- Designed
and produced Ariel's internal marketing and corporate identity
packages.
- Had
Art Director responsibilities for resource management, performance
reviews, and budgets for a team of 70 instructional designers,
writers, programmers, media specialists and professional staff.
- Was
Director of Media Production, managing a team of media specialists,
including illustrators, animators, print specialists, and
audio engineers.
- Produced
illustrations for computer-based learning applications on
platforms such as NeXT, Sun, Macintosh, PC and Compact Disc
Interactive.
- Worked
directly with clients such as ABN-Amro, Sprint, John Deere,
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Aetna, Frito-Lay, Apple Computers,
Anheuser Busch, Southland Corporation, Chrysler, Ford, Netscape,
Federal Express, and many more.
In
the past, he has worked on systems for the following clients:
When
away from the computer, Ronnie enjoys painting in oils. His
series of jazz and blues legends has been showcased in several
Dallas area galleries. Ronnie also studies the guitar, and can
occasionally be seen with his band, Bupkus, at several less
than discriminating local venues.
